Studio locker terms

A locker of your own at the studio. Here is everything that comes with it.

Who they're for

Lockers are limited, so they normally go to students in Grade 7 or above who attend at least three classes a week. Ask us if you're not quite there โ€” we make exceptions where it makes sense, but we can't say yes to everyone. If a locker is bought and it turns out not to be the right fit, we'll cancel it and refund you.

Payment

Billed monthly in advance, with the first payment taken when you sign up. You keep your price for as long as you hold the locker without a break, even if our prices change later.

Cancelling

You can cancel any time from your account. You keep the locker until the end of the month you have already paid for, and it is released to the next family after that. Please clear it out before your billing month ends.

Cancel before your next billing date if you don't want to be charged for another month โ€” once a month is paid for, it isn't refunded part-way through.

If you want a locker again later you're very welcome, but you re-join at the price at that time and take whichever locker is free.

If a payment fails we'll retry a few times over about three weeks and let you know each time. If it still hasn't gone through after the final attempt, the membership is cancelled and the locker released.

The lock

Each locker has a combination lock. Your dancer chooses a four-digit PIN and we set it up with them at the studio. Please make sure they can remember it.

Staff hold a master key. We won't open a locker casually, but we may need to in the circumstances below.

Sharing

As a rule, lockers aren't shared. One person signs up and that person is responsible for the locker, its condition and its PIN.

If you'd like to share with another student, ask us first. We consider it case by case and will often say yes, but the PIN must not be given to anyone else until we've agreed.

If we approve sharing, the person who signed up stays responsible: for the locker's condition, for anything that happens to what's inside it, and for any damage caused by the person they shared it with.

Looking after it

Make it your dancer's own โ€” hang things up, put pictures inside, decorate it however you like, as long as it all comes off cleanly when the locker changes hands.

Nothing permanent. No stickers, no adhesive, nothing painted or written on. If it can't be removed without a trace, it doesn't go on the locker.

No food, and nothing perishable

Water is fine. Nothing else edible goes in a locker โ€” no snacks, no lunchboxes, no drinks other than water, nothing that can go off. A forgotten lunchbox over the holidays does real damage, and the smell doesn't stay in one locker.

If we believe something perishable is in a locker, we will open it and remove it, and let you know we have.

What must not go in

Nothing illegal, nothing dangerous, and nothing that could harm someone. That includes anything flammable, any weapon, alcohol, tobacco, vapes and any illegal substance. If we have reasonable grounds to think a locker contains any of these we will open it, and where the law requires it we will involve the police.

Your belongings

Anything you leave in a locker is at your own risk. The lockers are a convenience, not a safe. Please don't store anything valuable or irreplaceable in one โ€” that includes phones, tablets, jewellery, cash and keys.

Inspire Dance Academy is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to items kept in a locker, however that happens. Our liability is limited to what the law does not allow us to exclude.

When a locker has to be cleared

We'll contact you first wherever we can. We may need to clear a locker if the membership ends, if the locker is damaged and needs repair, or if the studio moves or the lockers are replaced.

Anything left behind after a membership ends is held for 30 days, then disposed of or donated.

Damage

Fair wear and tear is expected and fine. Damage beyond that โ€” a forced door, a broken lock, adhesive residue โ€” may be charged at cost.
